Son of a Beach
I just returned from a very relaxing—and very warm—vacation to the Chincoteague/Assateague islands in Virginia! This was my second trip to the beach there, and I have to say that it was even better the second time around! Other than the wicked sunburn I developed, every experience was enjoyable :) If you know me, you know that I hate anything beach themed—to a point. I strongly...

Success!!
The pasta that i previously posted about is something i would definitely make again! I was a very light summery dish, and I especially was a fan of the avocados. There were only a few things that I did differently and was one the bacon. It says to cook under a hot grill, but i chose to instead grill it outside on a traditional grill, which still gave me a crispy ungreasy flavor. I also added a...

In-Home Habitat
I’m all for fun creative projects, and as it turns out, i enjoy a good bit of eco-fun as well. Well both interests are satiated by the super awesome Terrarium Centerpieces at Indie Bliss! Included are a great bunch of neat pictures of different terrariums and instructions on how to make your own! I love the idea of having a little jar filled with moss and dirt and rocks, making a great...

Pasta time!
I think i could honestly eat pasta everyday if i had to, and I am always fascinated with how many different variations that can be made. Between the different noodles, sauces, meats, and vegetables, there are endless possibilities! Recently, I was thinking of another of my favorite foods, avocado, and was wondering if i could somehow incorporate it into a pasta. I purchased a cookbook called...

Ryan Berkley
An anthropomorphic wonder, Ryan Berkley has the kind of artistic sense that makes me want to go right out and buy everything he’s made. One of his more prolific and (I daresay) more well known collections is his “Well Dressed Animals” set. Featuring everything from earthworms to great whites, Berkley juxtaposes both wild and tamed animals in a great variety of garbs, all with...

Mystic River Sink
Elkay has created this curvy river sink that would look great in any kitchen island or wet bar. There could be so many uses for this sink, especially for parties displaying wine, fruit, or any other drinks or appetizers that need to be kept cold. Instead of using a regular cooler or bowl with ice this sink provides and elegant and interesting way to get around they typical old party displays....

Cellular Signal
Cells—not of the Motorola, HTC, or LG variety—are the simplest form of life, yet when combined are responsible for the most complex creatures, plants, and structures on Earth (and perhaps beyond)! Today, Paste-Up pays homage to these pack-horses of the microscopic world by featuring three pieces which were inspired by that simplest form of beauty. #1 Undergrowth Earrings by Nervous...

Shark!!
This may be completely off of the topics that i am supposed to be writing about but I would like to showcase these photos in honor of Shark Week! I was looking at some pictures of the Whale shark, one of my favorites, and i could not believe how huge and overpowering this shark looks, especially when swimming next to humans! I also believe that it would take amazing skill and patience to capture...

Featured Shop: FromLemonsToLemonade
Today we are featuring a shop you may recognize from a previous post (Hooked!)! Since that post, I have been fortunate enough to be in almost daily contact with Alex, owner of FromLemonsToLemonade. Thankfully, this shop agreed to be the ‘guinea pig’ of the Paste-Up featured shop section, and we are sure you’ll love reading interview! Without further ado: 1. Give us a...

Another way to see the world.
I have always loved long exposure pictures. They capture a scene that can not be seen by the plain eye. I especially love the vivid colors that sometimes arise, and the ability to see a progression through time. I recently revisited this site that i ran across about a year ago and thought that i would share some of my favorite pictures from it with you guys!  Patrick Smith Mohammed Al-Naser ...

Utensils of Design
A new friend recently acquainted me with the advantages of using both a knife and a fork to eat every meal. As I watched him use his knife to gently herd bits of vegetables onto his fork, he boasted about how efficient the system was, how little food he spilled, and how refined his table manners appeared to the casual onlooker. He made it look easy—it’s not. Days later, I tried the new...
